Professional international market researcher---CCM recently released its in-depth Report- Production and Market of Bromine and Bromides in China. This report made systematically study on the industry chain of Bromine for the first time and probed into the consumption of downstream products, technology of Bromides in China and the future development of Bromides.

According to this report, China is the 3rd Bromine production base in the world and is the major Bromine production country. In the past 10 years, driven by both domestic and overseas market development, Bromine and Bromidesin China marched swiftly. In 2007, the production of Bromine reached to 160,000 tonnes, an all-time high. Since 2008, the production of Bromine is dropping year by year. The domestic supply of Bromine, particularly the industrial inorganic Bromides, can not meet the need from downstream industry.  That is why the price of Bromine continues to move up in the past 2 years. The price in the latter half of this year is beyond most enterprises' bearing capacity.

This report mainly studies the Bromine's downstream filed including about 25 kinds products like brominated flame retardants (BFRs), organic intermediates, oil field chemicals, agrochemicals, water treatment chemicals, and so on. The BFRs, organic intermediates and oil field chemicals are 3 core forces in the Bromine application, accounting 49%, 19% and 15% respectively in the total Bromines consumption in 2009. Besides, different technologies of organic Bromine synthesis can also be found systematically in this report.

As to the disadvantages and its industry trend in China, senior researcher Tanli in CCM said: The price of Bromine and Bromides will be stay at high level if the supply of Bromine can not meet the need. Bromine in Dead Sea at lsrael and Albemarle Corporation stated that the increment of Bromine import of China in the following years shall not be more than 10,000 tonnes. Thus, it is hard to depend on import to solve this supply problem.  In addition to strengthen government plan and supervision,  the effective way to solve this problem is to find the breakthrough in its technology. Though the BFRs is the major consumption filed in the near future, the growth is becoming weaker to the negative growth. The organic intermediates, as the new dynamics of Bromine, will maintain the momentum of slight stable growth.
